Women in Sport Breakfast

The iconic Women in Sport breakfast is a milestone event that brings together the sports industry to acknowledge, celebrate and continue the work all stakeholders are doing to advocate, elevate and extend the opportunities and access to sport for women and girls.

Following a two-year online pivot, it is extremely exciting to be back in the room with the industry at the October 7 event, and at such a time as the completion of the Commonwealth Games, FIBA Women's World Cup and the Rugby World Cup.  

Not to forget the expansion of the AFLW, NRLW, A League Women and continued elevation of the Suncorp Super Netball, WNBL, WBBL, World Surfing League, ATP, PGA, Horse Racing and many more!

It is a rip-roaring time for women in sport at the elite level in Australia, and this is due to continue for the next decade, with the FIFA Women's World Cup (2023), FINA World Short Course Swimming Championships (2022), Victorian Commonwealth Games (2026), Netball World Championships (2027) all on the short term calendar in Australia, leading into the Olympics in 2032.

There are many great minds in policy, participation, high performance and at the coal face in consumer land that can contribute to this conversation; so our proposal for the Women in Sport breakfast theme is to bring together some of the leading voices to tackle this question in a panel format.  

Facilitated by WSA, posing a handful of questions, and perhaps utilising some interactive technology to get opinions or thoughts from the audience also, to get a real snapshot of the room’s perspective.
